A. Llorente – Marruecos

A. Llorente was a general in the Air Force. He fell in love with the town of Pollensa, where he got married. Llorente was a contemporary of the Pollensa School alongside Anglada Camarasa and students like Dionís Bennassar and Bellini.

In his compositions, one can observe the distinctive techniques of this artistic movement, a style that was prominent in the early 20th century. Llorente was quite well-known in his time, leading him to exhibit at the Circle of Fine Arts in Palma, at Casal Balaguer, among other venues. The piece titled “Marruecos” (Morocco) depicts a Moroccan street, which he visited during his military service in Africa. Llorente is noted for his focus on painting landscapes and scenes that reflect the beauty of the Mediterranean environment. His style often incorporates vibrant colors and a special attention to light, allowing him to capture the essence of nature and everyday life in the region.
